I tried jumping and attacking and that did nothing, Blade Mode doesn't work in midair, and I can't parry its kicks.

I somehow managed to beat the first one but I still don't get it and the game offers very little instruction on how to beat it properly. I started the second mission and ran into the mini-Metal Gear things and that pretty much ended my excitement. I hope the rest of the game is like that fight, so maybe I'll love it. I was really feeling it during the first boss fight, especially at the very end when Raiden ran down the clock tower, that was DOPE. It reminds me of other Japanese titles like Resident Evil 4, 5, and Revelations, what with the general over-the-topness, weird camera controls, and emphasis on button combinations, but maybe I'm just new to that style of fighting games after coming out of my Halo phase. The game definitely feels like something I'd really enjoy once I have more playtime under my belt. Camera is wonky, controls and button combos are hard to divine unless you play all the tutorials, and the philosophy is kinda preachy. I'm probably 2 hours in and I'm definitely feeling the hype but my impression is a h. I had enough of the "nanomachines, son!" memes and decided to see what the hype was all about, so I bought MGR.
